Protect your iPhone5S from damage by putting a special protective film over the battery, the manufacturer of the iPhone 5s said on Tuesday.
The iPhone 5 will receive a special version of the Pregis protection film when it launches in the US in October.
Pregis is a water-resistant film developed by the PSA, which is the world’s largest water and film supplier.PSA said that if the film is used in the waterline of the phone, the phone can be fully submerged for up to 30 minutes.
Apple has long said it has a “long-term plan” to improve the iPhone, which has struggled in its first year of availability.
“We’ve been working on this technology for some time, and now we’re delivering it to you, with our iPhone 5 S water-resistance,” Apple said in a statement.
“Apple Watch is also water-repellent, so your watch won’t damage your iPhone while you’re out in the rain.”
Apple also said that the new Pregises film is 100% water-proof, meaning it can withstand a “100-meter drop in water” as long as it is not too wet.
Apple’s iPhone 5 and 5S have received a range of software updates, including a bug fix for an issue where users could be unable to send a text message if they were using a Bluetooth-enabled device.
In addition, a new iPhone 5 with the PREGIS film can be ordered with a free Apple Watch app, which will give users more control over the watch and let them save the time they spend with the phone in the app.
Apple said the new iPhone and watch will also come with a battery pack that can hold up to 100 times its normal capacity.
