By Amy J. Price-RothsteinAssociated PressNew York, NY (AP)Amazon has launched its own anti-piracy measures in Japan to keep out pirates.
The Amazon Protect service is being offered in the country for customers who want to protect their online purchases.
It is designed to protect against piracy, the company said in a statement Monday.
Amazon Protect is not available in Japan but is available in other countries such as Australia and South Korea.
The service is designed for people who want a simple way to protect and track their online activity.
The service lets users scan a QR code and scan a card to track their purchase history and purchases.
They can also use the QR code to track purchases for free through Amazon Prime.
Copyright holders can file a claim against Amazon if they believe the service is pirating.
Amazon’s service offers free protection from pirated products and can also be used to buy products through Amazon and other retailers.
The company says the service helps protect against counterfeiting and cybercrime.
The company says it’s not selling the service.
