3M-Bondshield Paint Protectors, which provides paint protection to cars, light trucks and boats, has announced a phase out of its paint protection film, which has been widely used by vehicle manufacturers.
The paint protection was introduced in the early 2000s by 3M to protect against paint chips and chip-slip damage to vehicles and light trucks, but in the intervening years the paint chip damage to cars and light truck parts has continued.
3M’s paint chip protection film is also used by car makers such as Toyota, BMW and Honda, and has become one of the most sought after parts for car owners.
3m says the film is no longer suitable for use in vehicles.
However, the film will continue to be offered to all car manufacturers, and will not be phased off the market until 2020, the company said.
3mm Paint Protection, the parent company of 3M, has said the film’s use in light trucks is no long supported, and that its use for cars was no longer acceptable.
3MM said it would offer a replacement paint protection product to all vehicle manufacturers by 2021, after which time it would cease offering its film to car makers.3m Paint Protector is now the only manufacturer offering paint protection films to car manufacturers.
3 M Paint Protecters, the leading manufacturer of paint protection in Australia, has been in the paint protection business since 1995.
The company has made a number of investments in the industry, including purchasing the US paint chip chip protection company, GSI Inc, in 2010, and acquiring 3M in 2011.
In the past few years, 3M has made significant investments in its paint chip protectors, such as introducing a new paint chip-protection coating, 3mm Ultra Clear (UCC), and a new coating, PPM.
3M Paint Protects has also invested in a range of other new technologies, including the use of a new, patented polymer resin for its protective film.
3M PaintProtectors paint chip protects against the high temperatures of a range the automotive industry, and is also able to protect cars and trucks from paint chips, and from water spray.
3 m Paint Protect has said its film is a safer and more cost-effective alternative to the paint chips that are a common issue with vehicle paint.
3MW Paint Protect is the leading paint chip protector in Australia.3M said it had invested in paint chip protecting film, and it was also in the process of developing a paint chip protective film for light trucks.
In 2018, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) issued a ruling that paint chip is a major component of paint chip damaging paint, and should be excluded from the market.
The ACCC said that while it agreed that paint chips were a significant issue, it was not satisfied that there were enough data to determine whether there was a clear link between paint chips in paint and the rate at which they damage paint.
It also said there was insufficient information to determine how often paint chip was used in paint-chip damage.
ACCC chief commissioner Rod Sims said the commission would take further action if it became necessary to do so.
“The ACCCC has found that the use and proliferation of paint chips has had a significant impact on the economy, and the consumer’s right to be safe from paint chip can no longer be ignored,” he said.
“It is the responsibility of manufacturers and the wider automotive industry to act to protect the public’s right not to be damaged by paint chip and to reduce the risk of paint- chip-related damage in the future.
